Welcome Back Dinner

One of the Center’s most anticipated signature programs, Welcome Back Dinner is a staple of the fall semester and features a full soul food dinner. Held in September, the dinner welcomes new and returning students, faculty, staff and community members to celebrate the beginning of another academic year at the University of Connecticut. Welcome Back Dinner has also been used as a space to mark the passing of notable members of the African American community, such as Prince and Muhammad Ali, and to honor the memories of those lost in tragic events, such as the Charleston Nine and the victims of the Pulse Orlando Massacre.
